Current Openings: Accepting New Clients for Neuropsychological Evaluations

Dr. Laura Russell is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in neuropsychological evaluations and individual therapy for adolescents and adults. She is the founder and primary supervisor at the Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Health (CCBH), established in 2020, and serves as the training director for the center's residency program.

Dr. Russell holds a bachelor's degree in Medical Humanities from Baylor University and a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in neuropsychology from the American School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC. She completed her training in diverse settings, including outpatient clinics, private practice, and integrated primary care facilities. Her postdoctoral fellowship further honed her skills in neuropsychological evaluations and broadened her assessment experience.

Dr. Russell actively contributes to the field through research collaborations. Her research and published work focuses on autism interventions, neurocognitive assessment in Multiple Sclerosis, and verbal fluency in Parkinson's disease.

Dr. Russell offers a comprehensive approach to mental health that leverages both neuropsychological assessment and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. She conducts thorough neuropsychological evaluations for a variety of concerns, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), dementia, learning disabilities, ADHD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and neurological disorders like Parkinson's disease and Multiple Sclerosis. These evaluations aim to identify an individual's cognitive strengths and weaknesses, providing valuable insights to guide treatment planning and support strategies. In her individual therapy sessions, Dr. Russell addresses a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief/loss, relationship issues, OCD, insomnia, trauma, chronic pain, and ADHD. She draws upon a blend of psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, customizing her approach to meet each client's unique needs. Ultimately, Dr. Russell's goal is to empower clients to find their own pathways to healing, balance, and inner peace.
